This artwork started with a sketch of twin irises I found growing wild in Kashmir. They are complemented with a beautiful love poem by Amrita Pritam.
This is a mixed media artwork, with several layers of polyester plate lithography, one layer of offset platography and some serigraphy to complete it. Polyester plate lithography is a relatively recent non-toxic medium in fineart lithography. The drawing is made directly on the plate, just like for stone lithography, and the ink is rolled on with alternating layers of water in between, and then hand-pulled from an etching press.
