Characteristic to spring in Bengal, the 'Palash' or the Flame of the Forest flower does just what its name suggests — it lights up the entire landscape with its striking orange-red flame-like dance. Its colour, form and presence are addictive, immortalised in a song by Tagore captured here.

Drypoint is an intaglio printmaking technique, where the image is scratched with a needle on a plate, and then inked and transferred on damp paper, using an etching press.
